About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sr Scientist, Translational Biology to drive biomarker discovery, translational research, and mechanism-of-action studies across innovative therapeutic programs. This role will leverage advanced molecular biology, immunology, and quantitative image analysis approaches to generate critical scientific insights that support target validation, biomarker strategy, and drug development efforts.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in translational research, biomarker development, immunology, and both in vivo and ex vivo model systems, along with experience managing external research collaborations and CRO partnerships.
Responsibilities
+ Design, execute, and interpret translational biology studies using primary human cellular and tissue-based models.
+ Utilize advanced quantitative image analysis tools, including HALO, to assess biomarkers and support translational research objectives.
+ Generate scientific insights to support target validation, mechanism-of-action studies, and biomarker strategies across multiple therapeutic areas.
+ Conduct and support studies utilizing both in vivo animal models and ex vivo human tissue and cellular systems.
+ Analyze and interpret complex biological datasets, including RNA, protein expression, and omics-based data.
+ Lead biomarker assay development, optimization, and validation activities.
+ Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary research teams to advance scientific programs and guide decision-making.
+ Manage external research collaborations, including Contract Research Organizations (CROs), academic institutions, and scientific vendors.
+ Present data, conclusions, and strategic recommendations to project teams and organizational leadership.
+ Contribute to scientific strategy and provide translational expertise across research programs.
Qualifications
+ Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
+ Minimum of 5 years of industry experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences organizations.
+ Strong scientific expertise in Immunology and Inflammation with experience supporting inflammatory disease research programs.
+ Required experience with HALO quantitative image analysis software.
+ Extensive experience utilizing in vivo and ex vivo model systems to support translational research and biomarker discovery.
+ Hands-on experience measuring RNA and protein expression and analyzing biological datasets.
+
Experience with biomarker discovery, assay development, validation, and implementation.
+ Proven ability to manage CROs, external vendors, and academic collaborations.
+ Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Somerville, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $100.00/hr.
