Somerville’s farm-focused Field & Vine – Chef de Cuisine

Somerville’s farm-focused Field & Vine is looking for a Chef de Cuisine to lead our kitchen. We are seeking – an individual passionate about local food systems, who can lead by example, and can maintain and build upon company culture and values. Someone who can collaborate closely with the team to create new dishes to keep the menu evolving, who cares about the FOH staff the same way they care about the BOH staff, makes a killer staff meal, and loves food.

We take pride in the collaborative nature of our space; the open kitchen is the center of the restaurant and candidates should be comfortable working in a guest‑facing environment.

Ideal Candidate Must Have
  • 3+ years experience in a management role
  • Proficiency in butchery of all proteins
  • Large repertoire of cuisines/sauces/techniques
  • Experience with pastry/bread making
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Exemplary kitchen habits ei. cleanliness, sense of urgency, organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm and level headed in stressful situations
  • Competency with spreadsheets
