ROLE & SCOPE:
Under general supervision, the Gas Service Technician D is responsible for performing assigned duties including installing, setting, removing, transferring, turning on and turning off meters; diagnosing problems, meter relighting, maintenance & inspection and other assigned work, in accordance with Company Safety Standards, and in compliance with Company, State, and Federal Codes and Regulations for duties described. The Gas Service Technician D is responsible for successfully completing all OJT tasks and examinations as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must pass the EEI CAST Test.
- Position will require the satisfactory completion of a pre-screening (for new hires), completion of company training programs, evaluations and a written test.
- Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment/pre-placement drug test in accordance with D.O.T regulations.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational, mechanical, or plumbing training is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and outdoors in all types of varying weather conditions. Must be physically capable of walking long distances while carrying gas meters/tools.
- Must have 2 years of related mechanical experience; gas utility experience preferred.
- Must have a history of safe working habits.
