The Dilboy Stadium Laborer oversees the Dilboy Stadium facility, coordinating activities for children, adults, seniors, and special citizens of Somerville.
ResponsibilitiesOpen and close the facility, set up and clean up for special events including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Work independently and collaboratively with the Parks & Recreation team to provide quality programming and connect community members to appropriate resources.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Training and experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Key Competencies- Knowledge of various recreational modalities.
- Ability to interact effectively with the public, handle problems, communicate clearly, maintain confidential information, and manage records.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Typical office discomforts with frequent exposure to the elements. Noise and physical surroundings may be distracting. Requires agility, strength, occasional lifting up to 30 lbs., and extended physical effort throughout the work day.
Physical and Mental RequirementsStanding, walking, stooping, and sitting are primary tasks. Intermittent lifting of recreational or office equipment may occur. Mental demands include reading documents for general understanding and analysis.
Work Hours and SalaryPart‑time (up to 19 hours per week). Salary $19.00 per hour. Non‑union. Non‑exempt under FLSA.
