Role Description

The Data Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining common, cloud‑based software and data infrastructure used across the company. This includes everything from our Snowflake data warehouse to the K8s (EKS) clusters that run our software and the streaming platform that processes telemetry data from our products in the field. The team is also increasingly responsible for defining and executing on our AI platform roadmap.

This role works closely with lab, plant software, and field operations teams to generate insights and expedite learning cycles by improving data access and building powerful internal applications and services.

• Build upon our lab, factory, and field data pipelines to meet evolving user requirements while maintaining data quality and reliability
• Build, review, and optimize data models/transformations in our data platform using tools like dbt and Py Spark
• Lead the development and maintenance of existing or new internal data applications
• Work with partner teams across Form to define and formalize key metrics used across R&D, product engineering, and manufacturing
• Collaborate with other Software teams to ensure data consistency across sources and downstream services in an environment of frequent schema migrations and new data sources
• Act as a collaborative member of a distributed software engineering team; this includes participating in an on‑call rotation

• Minimum 8+ years of professional experience as a software or data engineer working on a production codebase
• Excellent Python and SQL skills; experience with web frameworks like FastAPI or Flask, and data engineering libraries such as dbt, Dagster, and Py Spark
• Fluent in Git and familiar with common AWS services like S3, EC2, and RDS
• Strong command of SDLC; experience preparing TDDs and/or RFCs desired
• Experience with OLAP and time‑series databases such as Snowflake, Databricks DBSQL, Click House, and/or InfluxDB
• Working knowledge of electrochemistry and/or electrical systems is highly desired but not required
• Curiosity, creativity, and tenacity when it comes to problem solving

Compensation Range: $147,959 - $194,218
