M-F 2:15pm-7:15pm. Operates shuttle bus and/or passenger coach-type vehicles. Safely transports passengers to various destinations while adhering to traffic laws and company policies. Adheres to assignments in accordance with scheduled shuttle routes prepared by the Manager, Supervisor, and/or Dispatcher. Reports to the Supervisor of Transportation (or a designated individual in the Supervisor's absence). Provides safe, courteous, and professional service to passengers while en route to/from destinations.
Follows established routes and departure times. Communicates with dispatch for guidance on any detours or delays.
- Operate vehicles in accordance with Mass General Brigham Fleet Safety Program Policies and Procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Maintain an accurate log documenting the number of passengers, trips completed, mileage, and interior/exterior vehicle inspection.
- Ensure adherence to passenger limits, both seated and standing.
- Assist passengers with disabilities and others needing assistance to board and disembark via the wheelchair lift.
- Report any emergencies or concerns with the vehicle and/or passengers immediately to the Supervisor and/or Dispatcher.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
Licenses and Credentials: MGH Security RMV Check, Registry of Motor Vehicles driving report, Commercial Driver’s License (Massachusetts). Air Brake and Passenger endorsements on a CDL required.
Experience: Proven experience as a shuttle bus driver, 1–2 years required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent driving skills for shuttle buses and coach-type vehicles with the ability to navigate various road and weather conditions safely.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping and documentation.
- Great improvisational skills.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain a DOT medical card from Occupational Health.
- Ability to possess and maintain an Air Brake Endorsement and Passenger Endorsement on a CDL license.
