Piping Design & Stress Analysis Engineer

OverviewOur client is seeking a Piping Design & Stress Analysis Engineer to support the design, analysis, and optimization of complex piping systems. This role blends engineering rigor with practical design execution—ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design, structural analysis, and real-world manufacturing constraints. You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, project management, fabrication, and field teams to ensure our piping systems meet performance, safety, and reliability standards across global installations.
Responsibilities- Develop 3D piping layouts, isometrics, and detailed fabrication drawings for dry cooling systems.
- Perform piping stress calculations using Caesar II or similar tools to evaluate thermal expansion, vibration, support loads, and equipment nozzle loads.
- Specify pipe materials, valves, supports, and fittings based on project requirements, codes, and environmental conditions.
- Ensure designs comply with ASME, API, and relevant industry standards.
- Work closely with mechanical, structural, and project engineering teams to integrate piping systems into complete dry cooling assemblies.
- Provide technical guidance during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, reduce cost, and streamline design processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in piping design and stress analysis.
- Proficiency in Caesar II, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Autodesk Inventor.
- Strong understanding of piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API).
- Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power plant projects.
- Familiarity with Navisworks, PDMS, or Smart Plant 3D.
- Knowledge of structural steel detailing and integration.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, piping specs, and equipment layouts.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
