Per Diem
Pay Range: $46.90 - $63.44 per hour (New Jersey)

Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health Somerset is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Labor and Delivery Unit.

Qualifications Required
  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • 1-2 years of Mother Baby/Postpartum and/or level II or level III NICU experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
Preferred
  • BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
  • Level II intermediate Nursery/NICU experience
Certifications and Licenses Required
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
  • NRP certification within 6 months of hire
  • STABLE Certification within 6 months of hire
Scheduling Requirements
  • Night Shift
  • Per diem
  • Weekend and Holiday requirement
Essential Functions
  • The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and embraces evidence-based practice principles, maintaining continuous professional development and contributing to team knowledge.
  • The Registered Nurse reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
  • The Registered Nurse is knowledgeable about the patient population served.
  • The Registered Nurse supervises and delegates tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
  • The Registered Nurse consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes for improvement.
  • The Registered Nurse acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care for each patient.
