The Borough of Somerville seeks qualified applicants for part-time and full-time Parking Enforcement Officer positions.
Available schedules include late evenings Monday through Friday, with weekend opportunities. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires the ability to walk for extended periods. A municipal vehicle will be provided.
The successful candidate will operate a handheld parking enforcement device and a cellular or two-way communication device. Duties may also include assisting with the collection system. Candidates must communicate effectively and courteously, maintain a professional appearance, and wear the required uniform.
Minimum qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a handheld enforcement device and a cellular or two-way communication device.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Bilingual skills and prior related experience are a plus.
