- Review detailed project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as Heavy Bid and Bluebeam to prepare precise pricing and bid proposals.
- Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground insights that inform accurate cost assessments and risk evaluations.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to negotiate contracts and scope of work.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and implement cost control measures as needed.
- Prepare detailed bid packages, including pricing breakdowns, schedules, and material lists.
- Assist in contract negotiations and review contractual obligations related to project scope and costs.
- Minimum 3 years experience in estimating Civil Construction up to $10M
- Proficiency in construction estimating tools such as Heavy Bid and Bluebeam is essential for accurate bid preparation.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction management principles, including cost control, scheduling, and project delivery methods.
- Experience with construction site operations provides valuable insight into realistic pricing and resource planning.
- Knowledge of contracts, procurement processes, and legal considerations in construction projects.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with diverse teams across multiple projects.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team fostering internal processes and systems improvement.
- Review architectural and structural drawings, specs, schedules, contract documents, proposal drawings, structural calcs, and other info prepared by internal and outside sources for compliance with the bidding documents.
- Ability to prepare quality take-offs, analysis, estimates, and trend studies for self-perform and subcontractor scopes.
- Familiarity with CA prevailing wage and public works requirements.
