Overview
The Concierge is the ultimate ambassador for a luxury hotel. It is their responsibility and honor to ensure all guests have the best experience possible at their hotel and that all of their expectations are fulfilled. They must be skilled at offering sincere advice, accurate information and assist in booking and facilitating any and all activities and requests within moral reason.
Responsibilities- Regulate and maintain positive and strong relationships with quality vendors committed to providing their guests with the highest level of service and value.
- Share information with arriving guests and all colleagues, so all are equally aware of current events, road conditions and services available, etc.
- Organize and maintain the lobby wine tasting calendar in a fair way to all partners and featured vendors.
- Ensure communication is maintained by all team members.
- Actively research new vendors, restaurants and services to ensure the hotel is offering the best recommendations and services possible.
- Provide engaging service and personalized recommendations based on each guest’s individual needs.
- Be knowledgeable about all aspects of the local area and able to accurately answer questions about attractions and things to do.
- Able to answer the telephone in a professional manner and assist guests with any questions, directions, requests and needs.
- Coordinate all guest requests for special arrangements and/or services in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Familiar with local business services (retail, couriers, salons, cleaners, etc.), transportation (chauffeur, guide/host services, group tours, taxi’s, shuttles, car rentals, biking, cruises, ferries, etc.), local restaurants, nightlife, activities (theatres, galleries, gyms, tours, etc.), venues (wineries, theatres, arenas, etc.), locales (hospitals, churches, beaches, shopping stores, etc.) and special events.
- Ability to diplomatically work with front line colleagues and upper management.
- Able to create, implement and enforce operation systems.
- Ability to anticipate and correct issues before they occur.
- Detailed and intimate knowledge of Sonoma/Napa and surrounding areas a must.
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests using a positive, clear speaking voice.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to multi-task in a high-profile, high-traffic environment.
- Ability to use logic to define the problem, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information and deal with abstract variables for unique or unfamiliar situations.
- Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondences, emails and memos.
- Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Organized and extremely detail oriented.
- Team player, able to work independently and have great communication skills.
- Wine knowledge highly preferred.
Hourly rate of $27.00
