Position Summary
Our Driver will safely transport residents to and from appointments, activities, and other destinations, ensuring a high level of safety and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, reliable, courteous transportation for residents to various locations.
- Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, including use of wheelchair lift/stairs and handling walkers or wheelchairs.
- Ensure resident safety and satisfaction, accounting for all residents before departure and upon return.
- Prepare the van/bus and coordinate vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain current vehicle registration, inspection tags, and insurance documentation.
- Follow traffic laws and transportation safety procedures.
- Maintain a valid state driver’s license for the required license class.
- Support resident programs such as activities and special events.
- Build positive relationships with residents during trips.
Requirements – Candidate Qualifications
Education and Licenses
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- CDL Passenger endorsement (per state regulations).
Experience, Competencies, and Skills
- At least 3 years of driving experience and a clean driving record.
- At least 1 year of experience driving a passenger vehicle, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
- Experience operating large vehicles or equivalent training.
- Excellent customer service, professional and patient demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to treating residents with respect.
Salary
$19.00 – $22.00 per hour.
