Registered Nurse – ICU

ICU Nurse

Provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Supervises and coordinates with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes through clinical expertise and effective care management.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor the health status of ICU patients to identify immediate and ongoing needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient assessments and medical orders.
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and utilize advanced medical equipment specific to critical care.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care plans.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to nursing staff and supervise their execution to maintain high standards of care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Preferably possess experience in an acute or ICU setting.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved vendor.
• Require AHA-ACLS certification; ARC-ALS certification is also necessary.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
