Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee all financial operations within our food service distribution division. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with operational finance, offering a dynamic opportunity to influence business decisions through accurate financial insights. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with sales and operations teams to ensure effective financial management and reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Oversee payroll operations, including union payroll compliance and processing.

- Conduct general accounting tasks such as reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining financial records.

- Develop and maintain forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.

- Lead budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial strategy.

- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards in all accounting practices.

- Analyze production costs and sales data to provide actionable insights for operational improvements.

- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to support strategic financial initiatives.

- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.

- Prepare detailed financial reports and communicate findings to senior leadership.

Requirements

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred

Prior experience within public accounting

Proven experience in a controllership or senior accounting role, preferably within the food service or distribution industry.

- Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and payroll operations, including union payroll.

- Expertise in general accounting practices, forecasting, and budgeting.

- Familiarity with GAAP standards and their application in financial reporting.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
