Registered Nurse School Setting - South Amboy, NJ

Support a young students well-being as an onsite Registered Nurse in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity spans the academic year and calls for a dedicated RN to provide attentive, compassionate care to a 3-year-old child with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy. The student is non-ambulatory, weighs approximately 24 pounds, and is dependent on an NG-tubenot a G-tubefor nutrition. As you accompany the student throughout the school day and on bus transportation, your expertise will be vital in ensuring their comfort and safety.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in good standing
• Pediatric nursing experience (required)
• Skilled in managing NG-tubes
• Ability to safely lift and transport a non-ambulatory child
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with school staff and families
• Comfortable providing care on school buses and in classroom settings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily medical care and monitoring for the student during school hours (8am3pm)
• Administer NG-tube feedings and related care according to individual health plans
• Assist with safe lifting, positioning, and transport of the student throughout the day and during bussing
• Monitor vital signs, respond to emergencies, and maintain accurate health records
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate the student's participation in school activities
• Communicate with families and healthcare providers as needed to support the students unique needs

This position is for onsite coverage only and offers the chance to make a profound impact on a child and their family throughout the school year.
