Fives Landis Corp (Gardner Abrasives) is actively seeking a full-time Applications Engineer to join its team in South Beloit, Illinois. As the Applications Engineer, you will join our local division, Gardner Abrasives, which provides products to top manufacturers around the globe to support medical devices, energy solutions, transportation, and more.

• The Applications Engineer is a key role that supports customers by providing in-depth technical advice and identifying customer hurdles while advocating a product solution. The Applications Engineer will act as the relay between the outside sales force, manufacturing team, and customer service.
• Support the outside sales team by providing technical knowledge during the sales cycle for the Gardner Abrasives portfolio, enabling market share growth.
• Directly support the customers  needs in terms of product information, price quotes, and product availability.

• Preferred areas of education, certifications, and skills: manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, and mechanical engineering
• 5+ years of work experience preferred
• Previous sales, application, or machining experience is a plus
• Cutting tool, dressing tool, and/or grinding experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Self-starter and relationship-focused
• Customer-oriented and solution-driven

Salary Range: $75K - $90K (Salary offer will be commensurate with experience)

  8-10 hour shifts
• 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
• Must be willing to travel (25%)
