Role Description

The CNC Machinist role at Clinkenbeard is a full-time, on-site position based in South Beloit, IL. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce precision parts to specification, including work on complex geometries and exotic materials. Daily activities include interpreting blueprints and CAD models, selecting appropriate tooling, performing machine offsets and adjustments, and inspecting parts to ensure they meet quality and tolerance requirements.

The CNC Machinist will also perform routine machine maintenance, document production activities, collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvements, and follow all safety, quality, and compliance procedures. The role requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to production schedules, and a strong focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Machine Operation and Machinery, including setup, safe operation, and basic maintenance of CNC equipment.
  • Candidates should possess solid Machining and Milling skills, with experience working from technical drawings and producing tight-tolerance parts.
  • Candidates should possess Quality Control skills, including the use of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and documentation of inspection results.
  • Relevant experience in aerospace, industrial, or precision manufacturing environments is beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions, and to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or apprenticeship in machining or manufacturing technology is preferred.
