Thompson Pipe Group is looking for an
Electro-Maintenance Technician
whichis responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems throughout the steel pipe manufacturing facility. This role supports continuous production by minimizing downtime, ensuring equipment reliability, and maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for an Electro-Maintenance Technician!

Pay:$25.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience

Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 1st Shift. Full-Time, Overtime Available

The
Electro-Maintenance Technician.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electric/electronic equipment, including, but not limited to hoists, cranes, power supplies, boilers, scales, motors, gearboxes, cylinders, gauges and test equipment.
  • Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories and principles, local and national codes, properties of various materials and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
  • Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown.
  • Advise operators and line mechanics of operational procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
  • Inform appropriate management and line operators of potential equipment problems and inherent dangers involved.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components, including the use of special diagnostic instruments, with the ability to install, test, diagnose, repair and maintain a variety of production and building equipment.
  • Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel, whether individually or in a team.
  • Have working knowledge of troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and AC/DC motor drives.
  • Repair electrical components such as transformers, wiring and electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation.
  • Other duties that may be required.
  • Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as an electrical technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform the duties of Maintenance II.
  • Ability to read and write in English (Spanish is a plus) and communicate and work with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to work with high voltage/low voltage electricity. Intermediate electrical experience in 3-phase motor branch circuits.
  • Have math aptitude for measurements, calibrations and comprehension of a variety of testing and diagnostic equipment
  • Bilingual English/Spanishwouldbehelpfulbutnot required
  • Militaryexperiencepreferred but not required
  • Have compliment of tools necessary for high level maintenance tasks
  • Have good mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic aptitude
  • Canworkwellwithothersandprovidepositive leadership
  • Haveadesiretoparticipateintheoveralleffort to keep all operations running smoothly and cleanly
  • Must be able to follow all safety procedures
  • US Work Authorization required

Requirements:

  • Pass the drug test
  • Passtechnicalassessmentaddressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas
  • Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings).
  • Experience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical and mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns).
  • Experience with reading mechanical drawings (e., hydraulics, pneumatics).
