Staff Accountant

Location: South Bend, Indiana (100% On-site)
Salary Range: $55,000 – $70,000 annually

A well-established employer in the South Bend, Indiana area is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This Staff Accountant role plays a key part in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will work closely with accounting leadership in a structured, collaborative environment that supports long-term growth and career development.

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

• Perform balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed

• Assist with financial statements, internal reporting, and variance analysis

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

• Support audits and provide documentation as requested

• Collaborate with leadership on process improvements and efficiency initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

• 2–4+ years of accounting or general ledger experience

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Experience with accounting or ERP systems (Net Suite, Sage, Dynamics, SAP, or similar) preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
