The Irish Group is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in corporate accounting practices.
Duties- Accounts Payable (A/P) - Reviewing and verifying vendor invoices, preparing checks or electronic payments, and resolving billing discrepancies.
- Accounts Receivable (A/R) - Recording cash receipts, tracking outstanding payments, and making daily bank deposits.
- Ledger Maintenance & Reconciliation
- Posting details of daily business transactions to the general ledger, balancing accounts, and reconciling bank or credit card statements. - Data Entry & Record Keeping
- Accurately entering financial data into accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks), managing physical and digital filing systems, and scanning financial documents. - Administrative Support
- Process incoming mail and emails, organize receipts, invoices and physical copies of financial documents. - Compliance & Auditing
- Organizing financial documentation and providing support during periodic financial audits. - Reporting Support
- Gathering statistical and financial data to assist accountants and management in preparing financial statements, budgets, cashflow analysis and tax documents.
- 2- 3 years proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles, preferably within corporate settings.
- Proficiency with is required.
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting methods, including double-entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting and cash accounting.
- Ability to use spreadsheets including basic math functions
- .Proficiency with the Google suite is a plus
- Understanding of basic tax liabilities including payroll and sales tax
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing).
- Strong analytical skills combined with good math aptitude and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments.
