Turner & Townsend is seeking an Electrical Project Manager
- Data Center Construction with Field Experience to support a high-profile data center construction project. This role involves overseeing the General Contractor’s construction activities, reporting on schedule status back to the project owner, and applying deep technical expertise in large-scale data center/mission critical works or electrical contracting environments.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders.
- Communicate across internal teams to ensure efficiency and consistent delivery.
- Analyze, track, and manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
- Verify project governance, processes, and systems are utilized.
- Ensure best practices are applied to all projects.
- Produce formal project status reports and other required reports.
- Monitor multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring approved design standards are applied.
- Manage interface between suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
- Manage flow of project information via regular meetings and written communications.
- Forecast and update key project milestones.
- Monitor local design teams per commission criteria.
- Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
- Respond rapidly to RFIs from the field.
- Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance.
- Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines, and costs.
- Client management – develop excellent working relationships with clients to maximize new opportunities.
- Strategic thinking – advise project teams on approaches to achieve client and business objectives.
- Knowledge management – capture key information and learnings from each project.
- Process improvement – identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.
- Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience, ideally in data center construction or with an electrical contractor.
- Experience with substation and power distribution systems preferred.
- Familiarity with MEP design.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in the Data Center Commissioning Process (levels 1-5).
- Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/E’s, equipment submittals and RFIs.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, P6, CxAlloy, and other construction project management tools.
