About the Role:

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to support a large‑scale data center construction program in the South Bend, IN area.

This individual will lead greenfield civil construction activities and support the transition into foundations and vertical construction. The role requires a strong field presence and the ability to drive contractor performance, coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage project constraints, and ensure successful execution from site development through building turnover.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing large‑scale site civil work, including grading, utilities, stormwater systems, and earthworks, while maintaining clear visibility into schedule, quality, safety, and project delivery objectives within a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.

Responsibilities will Include:
  • Manage contractor execution across multiple trades within the assigned scope of work.
  • Lead field coordination efforts, weekly look‑ahead planning, and proactive constraint removal activities.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, field changes, and project closeout documentation.
  • Monitor schedule performance, procurement constraints, and project delivery risks.
  • Drive quality readiness, punch list completion, turnover preparation, and project closeout activities.
  • Oversee large‑scale grading and earthworks operations on complex greenfield construction sites.
  • Coordinate site utility installation, stormwater management systems, and water and soil management plans.
  • Support aquifer, groundwater, and site water management activities throughout project execution.
  • Plan and manage the transition from grading and site development into foundations and vertical construction activities.
  • Maintain continuity throughout the project lifecycle to reduce handoffs and support seamless project delivery.
  • Facilitate communication between contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that may impact schedule, quality, scope, or safety performance.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and field records.
Qualifications &

Education:
  • 15+ years of construction management experience supporting large‑scale capital construction projects.
  • Data center, mission‑critical, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, industrial, or large infrastructure project experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large‑scale greenfield civil construction projects, including site civil scopes exceeding 50 acres.
  • Experience coordinating grading, utilities, foundations, and vertical construction activities.
  • Strong understanding of large‑scale earthworks, stormwater management, groundwater management, and soil management practices.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change management processes, and contractor coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, project controls, scheduling, quality management, and safety compliance.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple contractors and stakeholders on complex construction programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
