Holy Family School in South Bend is in search of a qualified elementary teacher for 3rd grade. The ideal candidate will be faith-filled and dedicated to providing quality, data-driven instruction for students of all abilities, integrating the mission of Holy Family School and the Diocese of Fort Wayne / South Bend in all planning, teaching, and classroom activities.
Responsibilities- Homeroom teacher for a 3rd grade class of 18-24 students.
- Enforce the school’s discipline policies and demonstrate effective classroom management with regard to student organization, behavior, and transitions throughout the day.
- Maintain school records as required by the diocese and state.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding all aspects of school life for this group of students.
- Collaborate with administrators, grade-level teacher teams, other staff, and parents on school-wide initiatives, projects, and field trips.
- Prepare lesson plans and teach in assigned subject areas and grade level in accordance with state and diocesan guidelines.
- Align instruction with Alive in Christ Religion Curriculum and integrate iREADY Math and the IXL online program for math instruction.
- Incorporate Amplify CKLA Language Arts and Science of Reading Curriculum; use PLTW and FOSS Kits for Science instruction.
- Serve as Test Administrator for ILEARN Checkpoints and IREAD.
- Use data to measure student growth and drive individual instruction.
- Incorporate relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Recognize diverse student learning styles and adapt instructional methods and materials to student needs.
- Use various assessments to measure student growth.
- Regularly enter grades and monitor student academic progress via Power School.
- Commit to ongoing faith formation and professional growth.
- Indiana Elementary teaching license or demonstrated eligibility to receive license.
- High level thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to speak and write fluently and grammatically correct English.
- Strong written, verbal presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Regularly required to walk up and down stairs.
- Stand for 30 minutes at a time.
- Operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
