We are seeking an experienced, passionate Lead Preschool Teacher to join our school family! This role is perfect for an educator who thrives in the classroom, confidently leads daily instruction, and creates a nurturing, engaging environment for young children.
The Lead Teacher will take ownership of classroom leadership and instruction while working under the support and guidance of the Preschool Director.
Responsibilities- Maintain classroom practices that support the program’s Paths to QUALITY Level 4 standards
- Follow all state licensing regulations and compliance requirements within the classroom setting
- Collaborate with the Preschool Director on lesson planning and curriculum implementation
- Lead daily classroom routines with structure, consistency, and care
- Foster students’ academic, social, and emotional growth
- Maintain a safe, positive, and organized classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with families and staff
- Previous experience in early childhood education required
- High school diploma required
- Additional early childhood education training required (e.g., ILead courses, Indiana Learning Paths)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must pass an extended background check
- Must complete and adhere to all Fort Wayne Diocese Safe Environment Training requirements and policies
- Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid certification
- Ability to independently lead a classroom
- Willingness to learn and follow all Indiana state licensing and Paths to QUALITY standards for the classroom
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
