Adjunct Faculty positions are part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals, and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the college.
The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality instruction and hands‑on training in Industrial Technology, with an emphasis on electrical systems, ensuring students develop the technical skills, safety awareness, and problem‑solving abilities needed for success in modern industrial and manufacturing environments.
The instructor will design and deliver an engaging curriculum aligned with industry
partnerships, and academic excellence.
The scope of responsibility includes classroom and laboratory instruction, curriculum development, assessment of student learning outcomes, equipment and lab maintenance, and collaboration with industry and academic partners. The instructor will also contribute to student recruitment, retention, and advising efforts, ensuring alignment
with the needs of local employers and the College’s Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science division goals.

Compensation: $47.35/ Contract Hour
- Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
- Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, showsevidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
- Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
- Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures forclassrooms, labs and all learning environments.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters ofthe Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meet facultycredentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Conducts all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and
views.
A qualified adjunct faculty member, including Dual Credit, Workforce Alignment, and a full time faculty teaching outside their discipline, meets the technical course standard throughone of four routes:
- Meets the full-time faculty discipline standard;
- Possesses a Department of Labor, Bureau for Apprenticeship Training recognizedjourneyman’s card in the discipline directly related to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and in journeyman status for twoyears or more with experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR). Possesses any specialized certifications required for theclass being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
- Possesses any specialized certifications or credentials required for the class being taughtas indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR); and, five years directly related work experience in the field that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
