EET - Electrical Electronics Technician - 2nd Shift

McCormick & Company, Inc. is seeking a full‑time Electrical Electronics Technician for its South Bend plant (3425 Lathrop Street, South Bend, IN). The position reports to the Maintenance Team Manager and works the 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday 2:00 pm–10:30 pm) with required overtime, including weekends.

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Team Manager, the Electrical Electronics Technician will respond to electrical trouble calls on production/process equipment and utility breakdowns, diagnosing, repairing, and testing industrial equipment such as power service, motor starters, high/low voltage electrical systems, PLCs, controls, HMIs, Ethernet/IP, Device Net, DH+, and electrical field devices (photo‑eyes, proxes, encoders, limit switches, etc.).

• Diagnose, repair, and test industrial equipment including power service, motor starters, high/low voltage electrical systems, PLC controls, HMI’s, networks, and field devices.
• Utilize standard electrical test equipment to perform tests per established procedures and write reports.
• Update and clarify test procedures.
• Train others to conduct tests properly.
• Perform preventive and general maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Complete assigned work orders and document tests (e.g., oscilloscope, DMM, recorder, megger).
• Troubleshoot, identify root causes, and recommend improvements continuously with cross‑functional teams.
• Work with outside contractors on miscellaneous installations when needed.

• Three to five years of plant maintenance experience.
• Ability to develop control logic, print and install control wiring, and troubleshoot PLC/solid‑state control instruments.
• Proficiency with test equipment such as multimeters.
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• Experience with process/programmable controllers and AC/DC drives.
• Industrial control wiring experience.
• Ability to read and interpret instrument drawings and control schematics.
• Knowledge of NEC requirements.
• Team‑oriented, able to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Availability for overtime, weekends, and shift flexibility.
• Excellent on‑site attendance.

• Associate degree in Industrial Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology or completion of an approved apprenticeship in industrial electrical maintenance, or five to seven years of directly applicable experience.
• Knowledge of SAP or a similar CMMS.
