Duration: 6+ months (with possible extension or conversion to a full-time position) Domain:
Aerospace | Manufacturing Pay Rate: $51.02/hr W2 SKILLS REQUIRED Primary (Must-Have):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting experience
  • Cause Identification and FMEA experience
  • Familiarity with PLCs, DCS, and HMI systems
  • Manufacturing process and equipment reliability experience
Secondary (Good to Have):
  • Mechanical or Chemical Engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP/HOS
  • Project management and analytical skills
  • Facilities management or manufacturing experience
POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Aerospace Wheel & Braking Systems Integrated Supply Chain team in South Bend, IN. This role supports manufacturing operations by improving equipment readiness, process reliability, and operational efficiency. The selected candidate will become the process owner and subject matter expert for High Temperature Furnaces, ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards while supporting continuous process improvement and operator training.

ROLES

& RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the process owner for High Temperature Furnaces, ensuring equipment readiness and manufacturing process compliance.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support root cause investigations using FMEA methodologies.
  • Record, monitor, and analyze process data to ensure product quality and specification compliance.
  • Train, mentor, audit, and certify operators while ensuring adherence to work instructions and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, equipment readiness, outage planning, and drive continuous process improvements across manufacturing operations.
