Assistant Controller
Location: South Bend, IN – Onsite
Salary Range: $105,000–$120,000

With continued growth and investment in modern financial systems and infrastructure, they are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join their leadership team during an exciting period of transformation.
This Assistant Controller role will play a critical part in strengthening accounting operations, improving financial processes, and supporting strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoy identifying efficiencies while helping scale accounting operations for future growth.
The Assistant Controller will partner closely with senior leadership to enhance reporting, optimize ERP functionality, and support ongoing process improvements across the finance and accounting departments.
What You’ll Do- Lead accounting process improvement and workflow optimization initiatives
- Support ERP enhancements, system implementations, and reporting automation
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AR/AP, payroll, reconciliations, and cost accounting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and monthly close process
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve operational and financial efficiencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience within construction, manufacturing, or related industries
- Experience with ERP systems such as Sage, Acumatica, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and cost accounting principles
- Proven ability to improve processes and implement efficiencies
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt and lead within a changing environment
