Senior Managing Speech Language Pathologist - Indiana

Job DescriptionThe Senior Managing Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation and treatment of expressive and receptive language, cognitive skills, and oral motor functioning in a variety of settings. The role includes developing treatment plans and outcomes reflected in each child’s Individual Family Service Plan (in Indiana only), using therapeutic modalities and procedures to maintain or increase skills. The Senior Managing Speech Language Pathologist also communicates with staff and families regarding evaluation results, treatment progress, provides parent training, and offers suggestions for home programming.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise and manage a team of full‑time, part‑time, and PRN staff, overseeing caseloads, treatment plans, SOAP notes, and required approvals.
- Hold group and one‑to‑one meetings; participate in employment and clinical reviews; conduct LOGAN management training.
- Assist in evaluating persons served with other therapists or individually, and communicate results of assessments or screenings.
- Collaborate with families and other LOGAN staff to deliver individual therapy, home programs, and feeding/pre‑feeding skills training.
- Provide daily progress notes, reports on client progress, and discharge/exit skill summaries.
- Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, parent group meetings, and conference/workshop attendance.
- Provide reports and written programs to families and professionals following payer guidelines.
- Serve as a resource for auditory perception, positioning, oral motor, feeding, speech and language development, and AAC.
- Lead instructional activity planning and coordinate care with internal and external therapeutic providers.
- Meet all reporting and therapeutic requirements set by contracted payors; furnish monthly statistics timely.
- Maintain confidentiality and cultural diversity respect in accordance with LOGAN policies.
- Assist in internal committee work regarding agency operations.
Education
Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology and licensure in Michigan and/or Indiana.
Experience
Five or more years of experience working with an IDD, DD, or ASD population is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Effective communication with staff, supervisors, and agency personnel.
- Establish and maintain relationships with persons served and their families.
- Creative and innovative approach to therapy.
- Independent work with sound judgment.
- For Indiana providers: registered/licensed with the Health Professions Bureau of Indiana.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel to client sites.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds during therapeutic sessions.
- Participation in LOGAN trainings and in‑service experiences.
- For Indiana only: enrolled in Indiana as a First Steps provider.
