Position Summary

As our Development‑Focused CTO, you will lead the engineering and technology functions to build scalable, high‑impact products. You will bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution, ensuring our development processes are efficient, innovative, and secure.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Technology

    Roadmap:

    Define and own the long‑term technical vision and architecture.
  • Engineering Leadership:
    Lead, mentor, and scale a high‑performing engineering team.
  • Product Development:
    Partner with product teams to align technical strategy with user needs and market demands.
  • Dev Ops & Infrastructure:
    Oversee CI/CD pipelines, system reliability, and cloud infrastructure at scale.
  • R&D and Innovation:
    Research and implement emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Quality & Security:
    Establish rigorous QA standards and ensure data protection and cybersecurity compliance.

  • Technical Mastery:
    Extensive experience in software architecture and full‑stack development.
  • Strategic Thinking:
    Ability to translate business objectives into a technical roadmap.

    Proven track record in hiring, onboarding, and developing engineering talent.

Education & Certifications
  • Academic Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is a standard prerequisite.
  • Advanced Degrees: A Master’s degree (MS in CS or IT Management) or an MBA is highly preferred to bridge the gap between engineering and executive business strategy.
  • Technical

    Certifications:

    Credentials like AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP (for security), or Certified Scrum Professional (for Agile leadership) are significant assets.
Professional Experience
  • Tenure:
    Typically requires 10–15 years of progressive experience in the technology field.
  • Leadership Track:
    At least 5+ years in a senior management or executive‑level role (e.g., VP of Engineering, Head of Development).
  • Technical Roots: A proven background as a Software Engineer or Architect, with a history of building and shipping large‑scale, customer‑facing products.
  • Strategic Impact:
    Demonstrated success in scaling engineering teams, managing multi‑million dollar technology budgets, and overseeing complex digital transformations.
Career Path Milestones (Preferred)
  • Experience in high‑growth startups or PE/VC‑backed environments where rapid scaling was required.
  • Hands‑on experience modernizing legacy systems or migrating to cloud‑native architectures.
  • Direct experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) depending on your industry.
Other
  • Willing and ready to exemplify HHIT’s core values on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for protecting data entrusted to HHIT by customers or other parties by strictly adhering to HHIT’s data security and privacy policies and procedures, as well as HIPAA, PIPEDA and all other applicable law.
