Solutions Architect

Position Summary

The Solutions Architect is responsible for examining and analyzing business requirements to understand goals, constraints, and requirements needed to design end‑to‑end technical solutions. They will exhibit extensive technical and product knowledge to position the right solution, rather than optimizing the architected solution solely for deal closure. This position is entrusted with building a unique understanding of the customer’s needs and creating technical documentation that ensures successful project implementation, through the application of HHIT’s product portfolio within industry‑standard infrastructure and service components.

Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers is a critical aspect of this position. You will be required to solve complex problems through critical thinking and quantitative analysis. Growing the business through efficiency and standardized design is a necessity. This position can be in‑person, fully remote, or a hybrid role.

• Collaborate with Sales, Sales Operations, Product, and Solution Engineering team members to understand, define, and document customer requirements. As the voice of delivery during presales, the Solution Architect will advocate for appropriate alternate approaches/contingency planning and designs, define clear scope boundaries, and confirm customer readiness around scope and requirements.
• Hold discussions with prospects, vendors, and third parties to deliver architecture requirements to support archival and/or migration solutions.
• Communicate infrastructure recommendations to customers and/or the HHIT Operations team, providing additional clarity and collaboration around a proposed solution as needed.
• Build, maintain, and expand a library of standard architecture models, plans, and deliverables.
• Assist the Solution Engineering team in identifying, evaluating, and qualifying vendors to support infrastructure solutions (e.g., platforms, frameworks, cloud services) when needed.
• Stay informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, and the latest product‑line developments.
• Understand product data flows and implementation methods in relation to the proposed solution.
• Demonstrate and support reasoning for solution architecture in terms of efficiency, scaling, and reliability, designing solutions with a high probability of implementation success and balancing customer requirements with HHIT’s operational realities.
• Establish and maintain a formal, recurring feedback loop with Data Integration leadership to review recently delivered projects, comparing designed solutions versus actual implementation and identifying gaps.
• Solicit feedback from Operations delivery teams on presales solution designs to refine discovery frameworks, improve solution design practices, and update architectural standards.
• Clearly communicate the reason for the proposed solution, including good, better, best options, limitations, considerations, and trade‑offs.
• Function as a Business Development liaison to Development, IT, and Operations, assisting with training Business Development team members on product offerings and infrastructure requirements.
• Assist with Business Development team member onboarding related to the functions of the Solution Engineering team.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring Solution Engineering team members.
• Participate in project kickoff meetings with Data Integration teams to clarify design decisions, answer implementation questions, and validate alignment between presales and delivery execution plans.
• Respond to requests related to the architected solutions’ compliance with guidelines and governance requirements.
• Create standard discovery analysis models to inform and expedite solution design and creation.
• Develop and maintain deep operational knowledge of HHIT’s Data Integration capabilities, including data extraction and migration tooling, SOPs, deployment patterns, and performance data across customer environments.
