Overview
AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
Responsibilities- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
- Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Travel within and outside of regional work area as required; maintain reliable personal vehicle and valid driver s license
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in a 24/7 environment with after-hours support as needed
- Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand and walk up to 8+ hours per day
- Ascend/descend ladders, stairs and gangways safely
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in computer networking
- Experience working with Linux operating systems
- Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Can work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating under pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
- Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+), or experience working in a colocation data center facility
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, trace route, iperf, etc.) or experience in managing and troubleshooting networks
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP
