Also, there is a 401(k) with an enhanced contribution and matching program. Rate of pay for a Shipping and Receiving Specialist starts at $24.27 per hour and progresses to $25.27 an hour.
Plus night premium is another $.50 for second and third shifts. Most positions will start either on 2nd or 3rd (Monday through Friday) and the hours are 2:45 pm. to 11:15 p.m. or 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
is responsible for, but not limited to, creating shippers per customer requirements, staging, inspecting and labeling of all customer shipments, daily data entry, inventory organization, packing service parts to meet shipping requirements needed to satisfy customer orders, and proper routing of incoming shipments and rejects. This position contributes to a safe workplace and minimizes negative environmental impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, work instructions outlined in the EHSMS Training Assessment for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Verifies method and mode of shipment for customer requirements. Prepares all documents in a timely and accurate manner.
- Upon transmission of an ASN, monitors, verifies, resolves any issues, and prints out the ASN documentation.
- Determines labeling requirements including but not limited to: assembling and packing product containers, preparing and affixing bar code shipping labels to customer dunnage or stencils identifying shipping information for cartons, skids, or other shipping devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
- Completes daily receiving entries in computer system.
- Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with Process Tech and Supervisor to rectify damages and shortages. Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department Process Tech and Supervisor.
- Verifies all customer returns and notifies Process Tech and Supervisor and the rest of the team.
- Builds service shipments/kits as needed.
- FIFO inventory organization, cycle counts, reporting monthly inventory counts.
- Operation of equipment to safety and productivity requirements, including but not limited to:
Lift truck or hand truck to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas and Operation of stretch wrap machine, bander, and balers. - Stages and loads out material, receives incoming components, customer empty dunnage, and all other materials.
- Inspects, sorts, and cleans customer empty dunnage, and ensures proper corrugated packaging material is available and used for all pass through product shipments.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations for general housekeeping and organization of the shipping areas.
