Production Operator – South Bend, IN (Washington St. and Bendix Dr.)
Must be available for all shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). Pay: $20.00 per hour with $1.00 shift differential.
Position OverviewThe Production Operator reports to the Production Manager/Supervisor. The job holder operates equipment and processes, including raw material preparation, packaging, unloading, packing, and labeling in compliance with legal and company rules. Proficiency in English is required.
Primary Responsibilities- Preparation of raw materials and packaging: identifying and preparing the right quantities and transporting them to the appropriate production area, reporting any deviation from normal, noting start and finish of process.
- Operating processing equipment in line with process instructions and procedures.
- Monitoring equipment, keeping processes running at desired run rates.
- Completing initial testing and release of products to ensure no deviations from specifications.
- Checking labels and packaging material to ensure correct labeling following existing rules and instructions.
- Packaging final products in accordance with instructions and H.B. Fuller quality standards.
- Carrying out all operations in compliance with expected quality standards and operating procedures of H.B. Fuller, respecting all legal and company EHS rules.
- Responsible for housekeeping in area of responsibility.
- Carrying out any other duties requested from the Production Manager/Supervisor.
- Basic educational degree, high school diploma, or GED.
- 1 year experience in an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of common software programs (MS Office).
- Ability to read and understand work orders, production process, safety regulations, and quality procedures and instructions.
- Availability to work in shifts.
- 3 years experience in an industrial environment.
- Required to stand for long periods, walk and climb stairs, use hands to remove or lift boxes, stretch and reach with arms extended, stoop and bend.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Temperature, dust, smell, and noise are under normal chemical environment conditions.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location. The salary for this role is $20.00 per hour. In addition to salary, H.B.
