ASSEMBLY OPERATOR

Manage automated, semi‑automated, and hand‑automated assembly machines, continually troubleshoot and optimize performance while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Run, troubleshoot, inspect, and changeover assembly machines.
  • Participate in day‑to‑day problem solving to meet quality and delivery targets.
  • Perform general assembly functions including labeling, dunnage management, part loading, part packout, part inspection, and documentation for traceability and product flow.
  • Provide training on new processes and support new operators when assigned.
  • Move material at various stages using pallet trucks or manually.
  • Handle 5S housekeeping duties as assigned by production managers or engineering staff.
GENERAL DUTIES
  • Support production operations and system enhancements to improve uptime, quality, efficiency, and TPM performance.
  • Maintain a safe workplace and reduce negative environmental impacts in line with EHS policies and procedures.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONS
  • Promote and actively support a safety‑first culture, identify and report unsafe conditions, and stop work when necessary.
  • Abide by the location’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policy and all related ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Understand all environmental aspects of the job and report or stop any activity that does not conform to policy or could cause injury.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
  • Identify and address non‑conforming work, materials, or procedures promptly.
  • Initiate action to prevent non‑conformities and, when appropriate, stop further work on suspect products.
  • Demonstrate accountability, honesty, and transparency when outcomes deviate from plans.
  • Follow 5S principles by maintaining, cleaning, organizing, and improving work areas, and suggest improvements for excellence.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds continuously during loading, unloading, and packing operations.
  • Stand or walk continuously (100% of the time) with appropriate PPE in the work areas.
  • Reach, grasp, and manipulate objects frequently, employing hand and arm movements.
  • Occasionally stoop or bend forward at waist height.
  • Maintain good visual acuity, depth perception, and color differentiation.
  • Work within a plant environment with noise exposure; PPE may be required.
APTITUDES AND SKILLS
  • General learning ability for problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Form perception/ability to perceive pertinent detail in objects.
  • Finger dexterity/ability to manipulate small objects rapidly or accurately.
  • Manual dexterity/ability to move hands easily and skillfully in placing and turning motions.
PAYMENT & BENEFITS
  • Hourly rate starts at $24.27 per hour and progresses to $25.27; night premium $0.50 for second and third shifts.
  • Shift hours: 2:45 p.m. – 11:15 p.m. or 10:45 p.m. – 7:15 a.m., second or third shift (Mon‑Fri).
