CNC Machinist, Machine Operator, Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations
About the Role
MTI isn't just another shop - it's a 100-year-old, family-run company (now 4th generation) that's the global leader in friction welding, trusted by names like NASA, Boeing, and Rolls-Royce. As a machinist here, you're not just running a machine - you're part of the team producing precision parts for aerospace, military, and oil & gas industries that genuinely matter. It's stable, it's growing, and it's local - no relocation, just solid, skilled work in South Bend with a company that's been around a century and plans to be around for another.
WhatMakes You Successful
The ideal candidate brings a sharp eye for precision, comfort with blueprints and GD&T, and pride in getting the measurements right the first time. Success here comes from a mix of technical skill (reading blueprints, running mics and calipers, understanding tolerances) and the right mindset - reliable, safety-first, willing to learn, and able to collaborate with engineering and production teams to solve problems on the fly.
If you have a love for troubleshooting and want to keep growing your skills (maybe even into CAD/CAM or G-code down the road), MTI gives you room to do that.
