HOURS

1st shift = 7am-3pm

2nd shift = 3pm-11pm

3rd shift = 11pm - 7am

* Due to Union bumping rights, applicants must have shift flexibility*

2nd shift premium = $1.80/hr

3rd shift premium = $1.25/hr

SUMMARY

Keeps finished goods in an orderly manner and manages in a FIFO warehouse operation and aids in loading of trucks by performing the following duties listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
  • Loads and unloads material onto or from pallets and Iifts.
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
  • Counts, weigh, and records number of units of material moved or handled on daily production sheet.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on containers.
  • Loads truck for transportation to customers.
  • Operates fork lift or overhead crane to assist in loading or moving materials and products.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or at least 10th grade education or equivalent; up to one month related experience for training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified Forklift Training and Overhead Craning Training.
