American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry/Oncology night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and strong telemetry or Med Surg skills.
Details- Work in the Telemetry unit (10 South Medical Oncology) of a hospital setting
- Unit is oncology-focused but manages a high volume of telemetry patients
- Involves management of cardiac drips and rhythm interpretation
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Required to work every other weekend
- Every other holiday coverage required
- Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on volume/census
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Active RN license (Indiana or Compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Strong telemetry experience preferred; strong Med Surg experience/skill set required if telemetry experience is lacking
- Cerner charting experience required
- Must pass medication and EKG competency tests
- Must be willing to participate in state licensure processing if license is pending
- Responsible for managing cardiac drips, interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, and monitoring telemetry both on-unit and remotely
- Additional skills utilized may include respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula), IV therapy, PICC line management, wound care, and isolation precautions
- Scrub requirement:
Royal Blue top with White or Royal Blue bottom - Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days; if RTO falls during holidays, must be willing to work at least one of the three holidays
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
- Up to 8 hours of self-reported training modules must be completed within 1 week of signing, prior to start
