Founded in 1947, South Bend Orthopaedics (SBO), a proud partner of Ortho Alliance, provides specialized care for musculoskeletal surgery, orthopedic rehabilitation and the treatment of sports and work-related injuries. SBO has served northern Indiana and southwest Michigan for decades and has been the orthopaedic surgeons for the University of Notre Dame Athletics Department since 1949. Services include joint replacement, sports medicine, upper and lower extremity surgery, pain management, imaging and physical and occupational therapy.

With 20 physicians and a team of advanced practitioners, SBO delivers comprehensive orthopedic care across multiple locations. South Bend Orthopaedics is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Orthopedic Walk-In / Urgent Care Clinic. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated APP to serve as a primary point of care for patients presenting with acute musculoskeletal injuries and conditions — without an appointment.

In this fast-paced, rewarding role, the APP will independently evaluate and manage a broad range of orthopedic urgent care needs, from fractures and dislocations to sprains, lacerations, and overuse injuries. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume environment, makes confident clinical decisions, and is passionate about delivering timely, high-quality care to the community.

This position offers consistent hours with no overnight call, making it an excellent work/life balance opportunity for experienced APPs seeking a dynamic clinical setting.

• Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute orthopedic injuries and musculoskeletal complaints on a walk-in basis
• Obtain patient histories, perform focused physical examinations, and formulate differential diagnoses
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic imaging including X-rays and MRI
• Apply and manage casts, splints, and braces for fractures and acute injuries
• Perform joint aspirations, injections, and wound care including laceration repair
