About McCormick’s Creek State Park: McCormick’s Creek is Indiana’s first state park. The park features a limestone canyon, a flowing creek, and scenic waterfalls. The park houses the Canyon Inn, offers concerts at the amphitheater, and hosts seasonal cultural events.
Salary Statement:
The hourly wage for seasonal positions varies, starting at $12.25/hour.
A Day in the Life:The Seasonal Aquatics Workers provide friendly customer service while ensuring the safety of guests participating in water activities. Seasonal Aquatics Worker positions include:
- Lifeguards and Aquatics Attendants – Monitor the activities of visitors at pools or beaches. This role administers first aid and CPR when necessary and reports accidents or issues to property management. Assistance may be requested for the maintenance and operations of pools or beach equipment.
- Marina Attendants – Monitor activities of visitors, operate and fuel watercraft for use at the marina, and sell gasoline, oil, passes, and permits to marina visitors. This role administers first aid and CPR when necessary and reports accidents or issues to property management. Assistance may be requested for the maintenance and operations of watercraft.
- Shuttle Boat Operators – Ferry passengers to and from personal boats, ensuring safe, cautious, and efficient rides for the safety of passengers and the care of boats. This role administers first aid and CPR when necessary and reports accidents or issues to property management. Assistance may be requested for the maintenance and operations of boats or equipment.

:
Supervises lifeguarding staff through scheduling, training, and correction. This role administers first aid and CPR when necessary and reports accidents or issues to property management. Assistance may be requested for the maintenance and operations of pools or beach equipment. - Pool Supervisors
:
Supervises lifeguarding staff through scheduling, training, and correction. This role administers first aid and CPR when necessary and reports accidents or issues to property management. Assists with pool maintenance and operations. This position does not require American Red Cross Lifeguard Training (LGI) certification and will NOT be allowed to sit on lifeguard pool deck rotations. - Co-Captains
:
Supervises lifeguarding staff through scheduling, training, and correction in the absence of a Head Captain. This role administers first aid and CPR when necessary and reports accidents or issues to property management. Assists with the maintenance and operations of pools or beach equipment.
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
- Completion of American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, American Red Cross Community CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are required
- Physical training, including swimming and running, is required
- Must wear a DNR-provided uniform
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license
- This role is expected to work afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
- May experience working in potentially inclement weather
- May work with DOC work release crews
- Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
