PT Greenskeeper Golf- Studebaker; IN, South Bend

SALARY: $17-$19 per hour

SUMMARY:

The Greenskeeper is responsible for the daily maintenance and overall care of Studebaker Golf Course, a 9-hole executive course. This position ensures that all playing surfaces and surrounding grounds are maintained to established standards for playability, safety, and appearance. The Greenskeeper works under the direct supervision of the Erskine Golf Course Superintendent and collaborates with golf shop staff as needed to support daily course operations.

This is a permanent part-time position, with the majority of scheduled hours occurring from March through November during the active golf season.

• Perform daily maintenance of golf course grounds including mowing, trimming, edging, and raking.
• Maintain greens, tees, fairways, rough, and practice areas to ensure quality playing conditions.
• Operate and maintain turf equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Assist with irrigation system operation, monitoring, and minor repairs.
• Apply seed, fertilizer, and topdressing materials as directed.
• Perform routine landscaping including tree, shrub, and flower bed maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and proper use of equipment and materials.
• Support the overall operations of Studebaker Golf Course as assigned by the Superintendent.

• Experience in golf course or turf maintenance preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate and maintain a variety of turf maintenance equipment.
• Working knowledge of turf care practices, irrigation, and course setup preferred.
• Must be able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, bending, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Dependability and attention to detail are essential.

• High School diploma or combination of education and experience required.
• Experience as a general laborer.

• Working knowledge of City or County Government a plus.
• Understanding of the operation of mowing equipment.

• Valid Driver’s License.

• Pickup truck, weed eater, hand mower, hand blower, riding mower, 2-way radio, and miscellaneous hand tools.
