This is a direct‑hire, permanent Quality Engineer position with a leading automotive manufacturing client located near South Bend, IN. The salary is $85,000–$95,000 per year plus bonus, and the role includes medical insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with company match, and other benefits.
Responsibilities- Uphold ISO, quality, and regulatory standards for production, quality assurance, and supplier quality.
- Create, maintain, and update quality engineering protocols and audit tracking systems.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis to eliminate recurrence of non‑conformance issues.
- Monitor, communicate, and improve KPIs such as cost reduction, DPPM, and waste.
- Report errors and activities within the quality management system.
- Recommend process improvements for manufacturing and quality processes.
- Coordinate with new product development teams to update blueprints, designs, drawings, and schematics for compliance and simplification.
- Participate in quality audits, projects, and special assignments.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints to ensure timely, accurate resolution.
- Help the Engineering Manager and the Quality Team develop and execute improvement plans.
- Ensure adherence to company quality, health, and safety regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (highly preferred).
- Minimum 3+ years of quality engineering experience in automotive or other heavy manufacturing industry.
- 3+ years of experience upholding ISO quality standards and leading inspections and auditing in a manufacturing facility.
- Experience collaborating and communicating directly with suppliers and customers.
- Ability to interpret customer specifications and inspection requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Self‑motivated and proactive.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
