Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions on the commercial side of the business. Position is responsible for profitable growth of the commercial business via customer retention and growth. Partners with GM to manage team members and leverages expert automotive system and part knowledge. Responsible for sourcing parts from various channels, directing drivers, and ensuring timely delivery. Full‑time role.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Maintain commercial customer relationships
- Provide GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives
- Provide day‑to‑day supervisory support for team members
- Collaborate with GM on coaching and development of team members
- Dispatch drivers ensuring delivery standards are met
- Maintain commercial stocking programs
- Build and maintain a network of second‑source suppliers
- Maintain core bank and commercial returns
- Maintain commercial credit accounts
- Partner with GM to ensure proper driver coverage
- Friendly communication
- Ability to locate and stock parts
- Safety knowledge and skills
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment
- Parts and automotive system knowledge
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems
- ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent
- Advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendation ability
- Ability to source from various channels
- Advanced selling skills for commercial customers
- Ability to multi‑task and remain organized
Effective communication, listening, and problem‑solving skills.
EssentialJob Skills
- Knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust)
- Proficient written and spoken English (Spanish a plus); build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management
- Read and interpret documents: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, procedure manuals; write simple correspondence
- Execute instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
- Complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Basic math accurately (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) effectively
- Strong organizational skills
- Understand commercial profitability concepts and market opportunities
- Work varied days, evenings, and weekends as required
- Minimum of 3 years automotive parts experience (preferred)
- Proven sales ability in customer transactions
- Experience leading teams, supervising daily tasks, and achieving goals
High school diploma or GED.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsASE Certification preferred but not required.
Physical DemandsPredominantly walking or standing; must be able to talk, hear, use hands, reach, climb, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently, up to 100 lbs occasionally. Requires close, distance, color, depth vision.
Work EnvironmentMostly indoors; occasionally outdoors and exposed to weather, moving mechanical parts, high places, chemicals, electrical shock, vibration. Noise moderate.
Position is eligible for sales commission based on individual or store performance.
