This field‑based role requires living within a reasonable distance from South Bend, IN. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships to maximize sales performance while putting the patient at the center of all efforts and operating within Abb Vie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed established goals.
- Create pre‑call plans and conduct post‑call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
- Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns while consistently obtaining logical and reasonable calls to action.
- Proactively serve customer needs, expectations and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise, and share market intelligence with the in‑field team, brand team and sales manager.
- Differentiate Abb Vie’s value proposition with health providers and maintain disease‑state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
- Maintain HCIR credentialing requirements, including background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization, and fingerprinting, to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations within the assigned territory.
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business‑related field preferred; equivalent industry experience acceptable.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience with at least three (3) years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Demonstrated in‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert by relevant stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen, strategic and critical thinking, and proficient use of business tools.
- Proven track record of success in selling, solid presentation skills, and ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
- Innovative thinking and ability to provide ideas for the larger organization while anticipating and responding to changes.
- Ability to influence others, build collaborative partnerships, and act as a credible role model.
- Documented success in leadership or support roles with increased responsibility at district, region or organizational levels.
- Preferred:
Proven track record in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas and experience in the commercial pharmaceutical industry. - Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements.
