Position Summary:
- Area Business Manager promoting an FDA-approved Rett syndrome treatment (adults and pediatric patients ages 2+). Own and execute territory strategy, analyze market insights, and build cross-functional partnerships to drive performance.
- Report to the Regional Business Leader.
- Build relationships with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary care teams; enhance HCP awareness of assigned therapeutic area (including safety/efficacy).
- Deliver MLR-approved education and disease-state information to enable patient conversations.
- Plan and execute territory business plans to exceed goals (call activity, adherence, and financial objectives).
- Maintain connections with KOLs and relevant stakeholders.
- Address customer concerns and collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Analyze sales potential; optimize outreach within budget and compliance guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support patients and providers.
- Participate in patient advocacy events, conferences, weekend events, and training.
- Stay current on market trends and product/therapeutic area knowledge.
- Guide customers on product pricing/access; act as liaison to internal teams.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and compliance; pursue development/leadership opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree required (preferred life sciences).
- Area Business Manager: 3+ years pharmaceutical sales; 1+ year specialty sales (rare diseases).
- Sr. Area Business Manager: 8+ years pharmaceutical sales; 5+ years specialty sales (rare diseases).
- Preferred: rare disease, CNS/neurology, or pediatric neurology experience; specialty distribution/access familiarity.
- Advanced selling/dialogue skills; ability to build relationships with KOLs and Centers of Excellence.
- Cross-functional business plan execution skills; strong communication/organizational skills.
- Live within territory; valid driver’s license; extensive travel (overnights, air travel); good standing with FDA and OIG.
