Sr Laboratory Technician

Job Title: Sr Laboratory Technician
Location: South Bend, IN
Duration: 8 Months

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of laboratory experience.
• Experience operating laboratory analytical instruments.
• Hands-on experience with benchtop/wet chemistry (e.g., titrations).
• Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and handling chemicals, solvents, acids, and bases.

• Coordinate daily laboratory workload using LIMS.
• Perform titrations, salt fog testing, ONH analysis, viscosity, refractive index, specific gravity, turbidity, coined density, fusion boundary, and powder material analysis.
• Prepare samples for XRD and perform metallography/cross-sectioning.
• Operate analytical instruments and microscopes, capture measurements/images.
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and maintain chemical inventories.
• Document results and communicate with internal/external customers.

• Experience with FTIR, TGA/DSC, ONH, SEM/EDS, XRD, XRF, Microscopes.
• Manufacturing/mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read engineering drawings/specifications.
• Strong documentation and Microsoft Office skills.
