Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist in site preparation including clearing debris, digging trenches, preparing the ground for concrete, etc.
- Material handling including loading, unloading, and distributing materials and tools
- Assist with pouring, spreading, and finishing concrete or asphalt for curbs, sidewalks, and related structures.
- Assist with building and setting forms for concrete pours, ensuring proper alignment and shape
- Assist with the repair of damaged curbs and sidewalks, patching holes, and addressing other issues
- Operates various types of tools & equipment including but not limited to: shovels, wheelbarrows, floats, edgers, rakes, etc.,
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, tools and equipment
- Interact with co-workers and the public with tact and diplomacy
- Maintain a positive attitude and consistent performance
- Manage time, make sound decisions and work independently
- Follow directions and relay work progress in an effective manner
- Follow safety procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or as assigned
- Ability to communicate with the public with a focus on positive customer service
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with others
- Ability to maintain best practices and learn new maintenance procedures
- Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, and memos

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods under adverse field conditions
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid Driver's License required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or push/pull up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required in this job include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WorkEnvironment
The work environment will be primarily working outside in various weather conditions (extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, snow, etc.). The employee may work near moving mechanical parts, around fumes or airborne particles. Noise conditions can vary from quiet to very loud.
ScheduleMay vary with season/operational needs, overtime as required.
Spring/Summer/Fall:
Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, 6:30am - 4:30pm
Winter:
Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm
