Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift in South Bend, IN. The hourly rate for this position is $34.58 per hour and the role is eligible for a variable incentive program. Core hours are 2:00pm–10:20pm.

- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment to enable high uptime.
- Work with other plant functions to implement safety, quality, efficiency and capital projects and improvements.
- Fully document all work performed using work orders and written shift‑to‑shift communication.

Ton. - Weld and fabricate fixtures, equipment repair, guarding and plumbing using electrical/electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints to rebuild or repair equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on presses and other plant equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, cranes, and hoists; perform rigging as required.
- Adhere to all plant safety requirements to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Lead major repairs on the maintenance team and contribute as a team member in resolving manufacturing problems, troubleshooting, and productivity‑improvement analysis.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of industrial electrical experience or an associate’s degree in industrial/electrical maintenance.
- No relocation benefit is provided; candidates must reside within 50miles of the work location. Active‑duty military service members are exempt from the geographical limitation.

Preferred:
- Experience with Allen‑Bradley PLC systems.
- Minimum of two (2) years of electrical specialty experience.
- Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Must be able to work all shifts. Shift assignments are subject to an annual bidding process and may require movement to different shifts within the facility.
