Position Overview

At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), our CDL Drivers are essential—delivering materials safely, efficiently, and with pride. Enjoy local routes, daily home time, competitive pay, and a supportive culture built on safety and respect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Operation
    • Safely operates company vehicles, including up to 26’ trucks, in compliance with DOT regulations.
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
    • Deliver materials to customer project sites on time, providing excellent customer service.
    • Additional training such as forklift and other equipment may be required.
    • Basic understanding of forklift operation and other equipment.
  • Delivery & Customer Service
    • Unload materials at delivery locations and verify deliveries against packing slips.
    • Ensure deliveries are handled professionally and courteously, always representing the company positively.
    • Unload, protect, move and stage materials as directed by customers.
    • Basic understanding of building materials.
  • Safety
    • Adheres to all driving regulations and state/jurisdiction policies, including seatbelt use.
    • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
    • Follows OSHA requirements and safety protocols.
    • Uses proper lifting techniques.
    • Wears appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing.
  • Communication
    • Attends and participates in all required meetings related to material delivery and company operations.
  • Training Requirements
    • Attends and participates in all required company training programs.
  • Physical Job Requirements
    • Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation.
    • Frequent driving or sitting in a truck, forklift or similar equipment for multiple hours a day.
    • Occasionally lifts and/or moves 80 lbs and climbs ladders carrying up to 50 lbs.
    • Pushing and pulling carts over various distances and surfaces; some functions may be performed as a team.
    • Operates forklifts and other company vehicles, uses tools such as dollies, flat carts, and rock carts.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Supports company values of Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Integrity, and being a Company of Choice.
    • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL.
  • Minimum 1‑year consistent commercial driving experience.
  • Works well in a team environment.
Compensation and Benefits

Reports To: Branch Manager

Compensation: The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position; actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and cost of living. This is a full‑time position with competitive pay and benefits.
