Logistic Lead- Outbound

About The Role

This position will lead, train and mentor new and existing employees through the direction of work and allocation of tasks in multiple functions within the Logistics Center (receiving, shipping, inventory control and/or slotting of Logistics Work Orders). Acts as a liaison for the Manager to employees while providing administrative and technical support. Utilizes a Warehouse Management system, TD SYNNEX programs and all necessary equipment to troubleshoot issues involving order and product flow and identify potential root causes.

Positively supports continuous improvement initiatives (using Lean Sigma techniques, updating SOPs, developing and implementing solutions).

• Delegate work and tasks to various teams and/or departments such as receiving, put‑away, picking, packing and slotting within the Logistics Center.
• Adjust to workflow needs by rotating self, employees and/or assigned workers from function to function.
• Provide technical support to employees and communicate across all levels within the Logistics Center.
• Act as an extension of the manager and provide performance feedback to management on employees.
• Respond to questions and provide solutions; serve as the “knowledge base” of information.
• Proficiently use a Warehouse Management System for workflow.
• Act as an SME; train and mentor employees.
• May be required to operate material handling equipment following prior training.
• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Sigma, Kaizen events, ISO, etc.).
• Maintain and promote a safe and clean working environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Meet attendance and punctuality standards.

Previous

Work Experience:

• Shipping, receiving and/or inventory control, integration work order flow.
• Internal candidates:
  Minimum of two (3) years of high-volume Logistics or Logistics Center warehouse experience. Must demonstrate working knowledge of Logistics functions such as SAP‑WMS, SOPs.
• External candidates:
  Minimum of five (5) years of high-volume Logistics Center warehouse experience as outlined above.
• Lead experience preferred.

• Preferred:
  Associate degree.
• Required:
  
  High School Diploma or G.E.D.

• Effective in diverse and multicultural work environments.
• Able to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.

• Distribution center environment may include exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, high places, wet and/or humid conditions, and outside weather conditions.
• Occasional non‑standard work hours or overtime as business requires.
